On the 11th July 2019, our Maputo partners Media Vital alongside IGPL “Institute of Good Policy and Leadership”, hosted the annual Joaquim Chissano lecture in Maputo, where former President Joaquim Chissano and the first female prime minister of Mozambique Dr Luisa Diogo was hosted on the discussion panel. MAPKZN also participated in support of Media Vital in the topic of conversation for the day which was Good governance and development strategies in Mozambique.
Due to the recent Corona Virus pandemic, MAPKZN and Media Vital have concluded alongside health practitioners’ advice, to postpone the Maputo business fair due to the high health risk and the contagiousness it possesses with human to human contact.
MAPKZN held its first Business Fair event on the 20th June 2019, hosted by the “City of uMhlathuze” civic center. The engagements of the day were aimed to facilitate intra- Africa trade relations between the Maputo and KZN regions, through the newly developed corridor linking Mozambique and South Africa through Maputo and KZN. The event saw entities from Maputo, KZN and as far as Gauteng, attending and participating in the Fair.
